In February, the Office of Student Affairs at ACS Athens announced a series of new "Emotional Intelligence" workshops for parents as part of its Partnership for Student Success program.

Last Thursday, the 2nd online workshop titled "Emotional Intelligence during pre-adolescence" took place.

Presented by acclaimed counseling psychologist Ms. Gina G. Thanopoulou, the webinar presented to all participants the sensitive age of pre-adolescence and the emotional needs of children at this age and how E.Q. values can help and support their development.

Additionally, participating parents were able to learn how to further support their pre-adolescent children with EQ values to formulate their social identity, to deal with psycho-somatic changes and face effectively social challenges such as bullying, addictions, learning differences, eating disorders, social media dependency and more.

Through the "Emotional Intelligence" workshop series, Ms. Gina G. Thanopoulou has enriched our knowledge of EQ values and enlightened us on how to better promote them to both ourselves and our children.

The next workshop will deal with Emotional Intelligence during Adolescence and is scheduled for April.
