The ACS Athens Theater Lobby came alive on Thursday, March 27, as the highly anticipated IB Visual Arts Year 2 Exhibition Opening Night welcomed students, families, alumni, and art enthusiasts.

The exhibit featured five talented seniors from the Class of 2025:

  • Madeline Creel
  • Sandy Dimitropoulou
  • Shaya Ehteshamzad
  • Miro Miller
  • Konstantinos Proedrou

Each brought a unique perspective, reflecting their artistic journeys and the challenges they embraced over the two-year IB program. These future alumni artists showcased a breathtaking array of artwork, blending creativity, technique, and deeply personal narratives.

Madeline’s mixed-media pieces explored themes of identity and memory, layering intricate textures with vivid colors. Sandy’s sculptures challenged notions of perception and space, inviting viewers to interact with the art in a tactile way. Shaya’s bold digital works captivated the crowd, showcasing her mastery of storytelling through vibrant imagery and animation. Miro’s paintings reflected a deep connection to nature, with a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. Konstantinos rounded out the exhibition with abstract installations that delved into the complexity of human emotions.

A short film created by Shaya Ehteshamzad captured the behind-the-scenes moments of the artists’ creative processes: paint-streaked hands, quiet reflection in sketchbooks, and the camaraderie of late-night brainstorming sessions. Shaya’s video wove together the collective heartbeat of the exhibition, offering a glimpse into the passion that defined the group’s journey.

The opening night was more than an exhibition; it was a celebration of growth, resilience, and artistic voice. As guests mingled and admired the works, they couldn’t help but feel inspired by the stories etched into every piece—a testament to the talent and determination of this remarkable group of seniors.

We wish them all the best as they graduate from ACS Athens and go on to pursue their dreams. Their creative journey is just beginning, and their future shines as brightly as the art they shared with us.
