Step back into the sunlit corridors of the early '70s and meet Mr. Marlowe—the brown-bearded, media-savvy teacher who launched the unforgettable Contemporary Media senior elective. With Little Richard's explosive lyric as a title and the Beatles as a syllabus, this class broke all molds.

From film and sound experiments to social satire and creative chaos, students were empowered to explore the power of media in shaping minds. There’s J. Nass filming reactions to a dry water fountain, Theresa expressing happiness through layered sounds, and Chuck Miller crafting a comedic take on Independent Study.

🗣️ “People gain knowledge from the lyrics,” says one student.
🎹 “Is Ray Charles important?” “He’s impossible to imitate,” Mr. Marlowe replies.

The class wasn’t about right or wrong answers—it was about thinking differently. Listening harder. Feeling more. And yes, debating whether Norwegian Wood made any sense at all.

📻 If you remember spinning vinyls in Room 10, hearing Mr. Marlowe quote McCartney—“God isn’t everything. People should learn to love”—this one’s for you.

✨ Do you want to continue Monday with the Beatles?
“Yeah, yeah.”
