In the vibrant city of Dubai, during an evening filled with laughter, shared memories, and a deep sense of camaraderie, the ACS Athens alumni community came together for a special gathering. Among the attendees was Christos Mastoras, Class of 1993 and Alumni Ambassador for Dubai, a devoted advocate for keeping the ACS Athens spirit alive in the UAE. However, the most touching part of this story began far from the event, at home, with an extraordinary creation by Christos' 5-year-old daughter, Sia Mastora.
Inspired by her father's heartfelt stories about his school and the excitement surrounding the Dubai gathering in October 2024, Sia expressed a strong desire to visit her dad's beloved school. Following popular demand, in December 2024, she accompanied her father and aunt, Eleni Mastora (Class of 1999), to ACS Athens during the Arts & Authors Spotlight event. Walking the same halls her father and aunt once roamed, Sia was inspired and captivated by the remarkable art showcased at the event.
Motivated by her visit, Sia decided to create something truly special for her father. With a golden-yellow canvas, vibrant red hearts, and her vivid imagination, she painted the words “ACS Baba,” a poignant reflection of her father's enduring love for ACS Athens. The artwork embodies a heartfelt tribute to the bond between Christos and the school that shaped him, viewed through the innocent and imaginative lens of his young daughter.
For the first time, this loving artwork is being shared with the ACS Athens community. Sia's creation tells a story of love, pride, and creativity that bridges generations. Her painting serves as a touching reminder of the lasting connections and cherished memories that ACS Athens fosters among its alumni. It stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the ACS Athens spirit, one that unites and inspires individuals across time and distance.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sia and Christos for sharing their story with us. We eagerly look forward to welcoming them to the upcoming Arts & Authors Spotlight, which we hope will take place on school grounds in January 2026.
