On Saturday, June 20, 2026, one day after the ACS Athens Commencement Ceremony honoring the Class of 2026, alumni from around the world gathered to celebrate the ACS Athens 2026 All-Class Reunion. Hosted at the Halandri Tennis Club, the evening brought together more than 140 alumni representing graduating classes from 1964 and 1968 through the late 2000s. Friends reunited, memories were rekindled, and the enduring spirit of the ACS Athens community was on full display as graduates celebrated the lifelong bonds that began on campus.
President Dr. Peggy Pelonis welcomed attendees with heartfelt remarks and gratitude for coming and celebrating the strength and vitality of the ACS Athens Alumni community and the connections that continue long after graduation. One of the evening's highlights was the debut of the new ACS Athens alma mater, "Lancers Rise," a song destined to become a cherished tradition for generations of alumni. The celebration continued late into the night as fellow alumnus and DJ Jimmy Kiritsis kept the dance floor full, with classmates reconnecting, sharing stories spanning decades, and celebrating well past 1:00 a.m.
The reunion also showcased the spirit of giving back that defines the ACS Athens alumni network. Guests enjoyed a display of ACS Athens memorabilia and admired two elegant new alumni jewelry collections—Athenia and Noesis—created by alumna Eliana Poumbrou of Amarelia. Proceeds from both the jewelry sales and the reunion event will benefit the ACS Athens Alumni Fund, which provides financial assistance to deserving students who are children of ACS Athens alumni. The evening served as a powerful reminder that the ACS Athens experience extends far beyond graduation, inspiring alumni to invest in future generations while honoring the school's rich legacy.
Back To School Campus Tour
Earlier that afternoon, many alumni participated in a special "Back-to-School" Campus Tour, a two-hour pre-reunion experience that welcomed more than 60 graduates back to the place where it all began. While many participants continued on to the evening reunion, others traveled specifically to experience the campus tour, making it a meaningful event in its own right. Among the participants was a group of more than 30 alumni who traveled together from the United States, coordinated by U.S.-based alumna Ann Stiles, along with graduates returning from Dubai and other parts of the world to reconnect with their alma mater.
Guided by Director of Institutional Advancement & Alumni Affairs John Papadakis, Alumni Relations Coordinator and alumna Lydia Skampavia, and beloved educator and Special Consultant on Institutional Advancement Chris Perakis, alumni explored both familiar landmarks and exciting new additions to campus. The journey sparked countless conversations as classmates revisited the classrooms where legendary educators—including Steve Medeiros, Ms. Jasonides, Mr. Demos, Mr. Yeros, Mr. Pisanias, Madame Maglivera, Mr. Fotinelli, and many others—inspired generations of students.
The tour included visits to the Elementary School, the Annex, Academy classrooms, the outdoor auditorium courtyard—a favorite gathering place for many alumni—the Theater, once the school's gymnasium, the new athletic facilities, the Middle School, and the beautifully transformed Library, now home to the Learning Commons, Innovation Lab, studio rooms, and the Sabbagh Media Studio. Throughout the afternoon, memories flowed freely as alumni compared the campus they remembered with the dynamic learning environment enjoyed by today's students.
Together, the campus tour and reunion celebration captured the essence of the ACS Athens experience: a community where lifelong friendships are formed, traditions endure, and every generation remains connected by shared memories and a common purpose. Whether alumni returned for the campus tour, the reunion celebration, or both, each left with a renewed appreciation for the school that continues to shape lives across the globe.
